f:945 -    Taking less than customary wages for a mosque
Country : Bangalore, India,
Name : Faroq Razvi
Question:     Zaid paints boards for a living.  He was asked to paint a board for a Masjid for a less amount than what he takes normally. He said: "Be it the work of a Masjid or of Allah, I will take my full wages."  Is saying so correct?
............................................................................
Answer:     Zaid has the right to demand full payment for the services he renders.  The Shariah gives this right to him.  However, the way other people donate things to the mosque, if Zaid takes less money than what he usually takes, it will be a donation to the mosque and this is a virtuous act, worthy of reward from Almighty Allah.

And Allah Most High knows best.
