Benefits of obeying the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)

When a believer performs a good deed with sincerity, then Allah Most High grants him/her the full reward of it and doesn’t subtract anything from the reward.  It is mentioned in Surah Hujuraat:

The Bedouins say: We have believed. Say: You have not believed. Rather say: We have accepted Islam. And the belief has not yet gone into your hearts. If you obey Allah and His Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him), He will not decrease anything (in reward) for your deeds. Surely, Allah is Most Forgiving, Ever-Merciful.  Surah Hujuraat (49:14)

Say: Obey Allah and His Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him), but if you turn away (from obedience), then (beware that) the Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) is simply responsible for the duty he is charged with, and you are responsible for what you are charged with. And if you obey him, you will be guided. And nothing is (obligatory) for the Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) but to convey (the commands) clearly.  Surah Noor (24:54)

They command good and forbid evil and establish Prayer and pay Zakat (the Alms-due) and obey Allah and His Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him). It is they on whom Allah will soon shower His Mercy. Surely, Allah is Almighty, Most Wise.  Surah Tauba (9:71)

Deliverance depends of obedience

Almighty Allah has declared that obedience to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is the means of deliverance and success.  Allah Most High declared in the Holy Quran:

And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) and fears Allah and adopts piety for Him, it is they who will achieve their goal.  Surah Noor (24:52)

It is also mentioned in Surah Ahzaab:

He will set (all) your deeds right for you and will forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Holy Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) will surely achieve a great success.  Surah Ahzaab (33:71)

Following the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) – Leads to divine mercy

Obedience to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is the means of acquiring the mercy of the Merciful Lord Almighty, as Almighty Allah says in the Holy Quran:

And persist in obedience to Allah and the Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) so that you may be blessed with mercy.  Surah Ale Imran (3:132)

A human being always desires divine mercy.  Day and night we pray for it.  Almighty Allah tells us that obedience to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is the means of to garner divine mercy.

Those who obey the Ultimate Creator and His Beloved Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) will be granted the company of the Prophets, the great saints (Siddiquin), the martyrs and the pious.  Almighty Allah says in the Holy Quran:

And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) are the people who will be in the company of those (spiritual dignitaries on the Last Day) whom Allah has blessed with His (special) favour: the Prophets, the truthful, the martyrs and the most pious. The aforementioned verses of the Holy Quran make it clear that when Allah Most High sees His slaves traveling on the right path (of guidance) and judges them to be steadfast on His obedience and on the obedience of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), then our of His benevolence, He grants them uncountable bounties, shades them with His mercy and rains His mercy on them.  He grants them all that is good.  When He judges their acts to be sincere and selfless, He grants them the full reward of these actions and opens the doors of guidance for them and grants them the success of this world and the next.  Then, He also grants them entry into paradise and gives them such a high status that they will be in the company of the Prophets, the saints, the martyrs and the pious people.

The need of the hour is that we develop the desire to obey the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and make all out efforts to follow Him to the letter.  Each and every act of ours should be in the light of His Sunnah.  No act or deed should go against His Sunnah.  Even our everyday activities should be as per His Sunnah.  We should ready ourselves to live all our lives in the obedience of Almighty Allah and His Beloved Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  If we do so, then Allah Most High will surely grant us the blessings of that obedience.

May Almighty Allah guide us to be steadfast on His commands and to follow and implement the life and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).
