The 5 constituents of Islam

Islam has 5 parts.  When pillars, roof and walls are not there for a house, then it will not be called a house and neither can any benefit be drawn from it.  Similarly, Islam has 5 constituents.

The 1st constituent – Tenets of faith

Just look at the beliefs of Muslims!  How much they have swerved away from Islam.  In Islam, one has to perform all of one’s worldly and religious affairs having absolute faith in Allah.  But our condition is that government servants are acting on the un-Islamic principles of their superiors, businessmen on the un-Islamic principles of their non-Muslim neighbors and farmers on the un-Islamic principles of non-Muslim farmers.  For e.g. Muslim government servants to please their superiors and businessmen also engage in Puja on the occasion of Diwali, etc.  Farmers also celebrate un-Islamic festivals like Ugadi, etc.  Thus, hundreds of such things are done which go against the tenets of faith.

The 2nd constituent – Religious affairs

How many Muslims offer Salaat?  How many participate in the congregational Salaat?  How many fast?  How many people give Zakaat?  How many people go for Hajj?

The 3rd constituent – Worldly affairs

Muslims have completely excluded this from the Shariah.  The whole thought process is that however it is possible, hoard wealth.  One should get delicious things to eat as well.  No matter if someone’s land is embezzled.  Document of usury are made for a loan that has already been paid.  People are happy on income from mortgage and don’t worry at all.

The 4th constituent – Social affairs

Everybody knows the sad state of this.  In marriages and on tragic occasions, whatever people want they do.  No need to ask any scholar nor to take an Islamic edict (Fatwa) from scholars.  Whatever women say, it is followed.  As if these ladies are Muftis.  If women give a Fatwa, it is enough.  Remember!  What is mentioned in the Hadith:

That nation will never succeed whose leader is a woman.

Saying, “Assalaamalaikum” is (one of the) signs of Islam.  People tire of this and are happy with “Aadaab”!

The 5th constituent – Manners and etiquette

What to say of the common populace, the manners of the educated people are becoming worse than the worse.

Thus, beliefs have become like this.  The deeds are like that.  The daily affairs have gone bad.  Etiquette and manners are all distorted.  The social life is against the Shariah.  There is neither love of Almighty Allah nor His fear.  By reflecting on these truths, one can understand how many true Muslims are there and how many name-sake Muslims.

For Muslims, there is a principle with Allah Most High that when they leave their religion, this world is also lost to them.

If you say that Islam has thousands of laws.  How can we act on all of them!  Son!  It is not difficult at all.  If someone is told:  These are 50 wagons.  Drive all of them together.  That person will be really worried as to how he can do it.  If that person is given the method that join all the wagons and put an engine.  Then all the wagons will be driven.  Similarly in Islam also, there is something like an engine.  If that is gained, then acting on all the commandments becomes easy.  What is that?  It is the fear of Allah.

The objective of making a watch is that it shows the correct time.  In pursuit of this objective, all those parts which help in showing the correct time have been gathered in its machine.  Then all of them have been joined in such a manner that they all actually move.  All every part does is to move as much as is required in showing the correct time.  Then the principle of winding the watch is given so that these parts aren’t allowed to stand still at any point and they are mode to move after some time!  In this way when all the parts have been joined correctly and the watch is winded, only then does the watch become capable of fulfilling the objective for which it was made.  If you don’t wind it up, it will not show the time and if replace some parts of it with the parts of some other machine, even then, this watch will not show the time and the objective for which it was made will not be fulfilled although the person who sees from afar can’t say that this is not a watch.

Like the parts of the watch, all the parts have been gathered in Islam as well, i.e. tenets of faith, the standards of manners and etiquette, the principles of daily affairs, the rights of Allah Most High, the rights of fellow human beings, the rights of one’s own self, the rights of every thing that you encounter in your life, the principles of earning one’s living and the methods of spending it, the laws of ruling over a country, etc.  These are all the various parts of Islam and like the parts of a watch, they have been kept in such order and have been joined with each other that as soon they are winded up, each part moves in conjunction with the other part and with their movement, the real result of the domination of Islam and divine law spreads in the world.

In the watch, to keep all parts attached and joined with each other, some nails and strips are used.  Similarly, in Islam to keep all the parts of Islam joined with each other and to ensure their correct order, something is kept which is the congregational system of Islam.  When all the parts are attached with each other and their placement is correct, then to set them in motion, the key of Salaat has been decreed.  The clean this watch, fasts have been assigned.  To oil it, Zakaat has been ordered.  Then to open it and set it right anew, Hajj has been ordained.
