No one can play the role of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) - Insulting religious personalities should be declared a universal crime

Almighty Allah has seated the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) on the very pinnacles of glory and honor.  His very person is without any equal in any aspect and all praiseworthy attributes and accomplishments have reached their culmination in Him.  In the whole universe, there is none like Him.  After Almighty Allah, He is the most honorable.  His very name proves His glory as “Muhammad” itself means “the one who is the epitome of all praiseworthy attributes and sublime of every flaw or blemish”.

This was what Hadhrat Hassaan bin Thabit (May Allah be well pleased with him) had immortalized in his couplets:

O Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)!  My gaze hasn’t fallen on anyone more beautiful than you.

No woman has ever borne anyone like you

You are born without any blemish

As if you were born as per your wishes

These are the words of Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi, Professor, Islamic Law, Jamia Nizamia, Founder-Director Abul Hasanaat Islamic Research Center, in the weekly lecture at Masjid Abul Hasanaat held under the auspices of AHIRC.

The revered Mufti said that the belief that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) has no equal and parallel is an axiomatic and is entirely factual.  Verses of the Holy Quran attest to this and there are Hadith in this regard as well.

Quoting verse no. 27 of Surah Baqarah, the revered Mufti said that there can be no one in the whole universe fit enough to play the role of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).

It is related from various Companions: We haven’t seen anyone like Him before you or after Him.  (Sahih Bukhari)

The revered Mufti said that visual representation of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is impossible.  The whole universe cannot portray His face at all.

Satan is a powerful entity.  He can go from one corner of the world to another corner in less than a moment.  He can run in the veins of a human being like blood.  He can take any form that he wants to.  In spite of all this, he cannot take the form of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  The one who has seen me in a dream has indeed seen me.  Satan cannot take my form.  (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No. 110)

Slurs are being cast on the Holy Quran and the one to whom the Holy Quran wsa revealed in the name of freedom of expression.  The limit is that films have been made on the sublime character of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  Insinuations of modesty have been cast at the man who adorned the world with modesty.  Innuendos of injustice have been made on those who defended truth and justice.  Calumny has been slung at the rules and laws of Islam.  And all this despite the fact that the UNO recognizes the sanctity of religions and insulting any religion as a crime deserving of punishment.

The revered Mufti said that in America if anyone insults the Christian religion, that person is booked under law.  Then why aren’t those who insult Islam and its Prophet brought under the pale of law?  These decidedly evil people have hurt the sentiments of more than 1/4th of the total population of the world.  He said that it is the responsibility of every Muslim to do what is one’s power to defend the honor of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  Muslims should unite on the basis of the honor and majesty of the oneness of Almighty Allah and the Prophethood of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and should defend Islam in an organized, peaceful manner.  Muslims should stamp out disunity among themselves as it encourages the enemies of Islam.

International Muslim leaders and rulers should press the demand in the UNO that insulting of religious figures should be banned so that it is recognized as a crime by all others.  All regional, national and international Muslim organizations should use their influence in this regard.

The very means used by the enemies of Islam to malign and defame Islam and the Prophet of Islam (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) should be used by Muslims to highlight the beautiful attributes and the shining life of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  They should propagate His teachings and become the very epitomes of those teachings as well.

Today, the enemies of Islam are studying the life of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) to present it in a negative light.  Muslims should study it and present it in its true form.  It will not be a wonder if the future generations of these enemies of Islam themselves embrace Islam.
