(May Allah shower His Mercy on him)

 

In Masjid Abul Hasanaat, a seminar was held on December 2, 2012, under the aegis of Abul Hasanaat Islamic Research Center on the life and services of Hadhrat Abul Fida Abdul Sattar Khan Naqshbandi Mujaddidi Qadri (May Allah shower His Mercy on him).  Prominent scholars and intellectuals of the city spoke and presented their papers.

 

Mufakkir-e-Islam Hadhrat ‘Allama Maulana Mufti Khaleel Ahmed, Shaykh Ul Jamia, Jamia Nizamia, (May Allah protect him)presided over the seminar.  He said that remembrance of the friends of Allah and the elders makes the heart radiant and refreshes one’s faith.  He said that the life of Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) is lesson and a model for the Muslims.  Almighty Allah granted him a high status, both in worldly and religious affairs.  Whoever saw his face would admit that it is the face of a friend of Allah Most High.  He had degrees of higher education and served in an important post in the university.  He was oversaw many organizations.  In spite of all this, he was very humble.

 

Every period of his life was full of educational and intellectual services.  Even after retiring, his intellectual activities and propagation of Islam continued.  He never surrendered to the situation.  Western society and its thought could never affect Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him).  Even in the west, he made those who were with him like himself.

 

The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  The best among people is who benefits others.  Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) benefited people with his knowledge, his manners, his character and his spirituality.

 

Hadhrat Maulana Khwaja Shareef (May Allah protect him), Shaykh Ul Hadith, Jamia Nizamia, said that the life and habits of Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) were the epitome of Islam.  He would invite people to Islam with his deeds, which resulted in a very good outcome.

 

In the field of propagation and inviting people to Islam, his services are prominent and considerable.  He not only performed great intellectual tasks but also reformed the life and character of people.

 

He was with Hadhrat Maulana Haji Muneeruddin Sahib (May Allah shower His Mercy on him), former Shaykh Ul Hadith, Jamia Nizamia, and Khateeb Makkah Masjid, in translation of 8 volumes of Noor Ul Masabeeh.  Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) had a very deep relationship with Jamia Nizamia.  He was a shining star of Deccan and his outward and inward aspects were all pure.  His life is a model alike for youth, for scholars and for the populace.

 

Hadhrat Maulana Syed Qubool Badshah Qadri Shuttari (May Allah protect him) said that Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) drew such benefit from great scholars that he himself became a source of benefit for Islam and Muslims.  He propagated Islam in America as well.  He was a very humble person and an affectionate teacher.  He said that in B.A. and M.A., he also studied under Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him).  His style of teaching was full of wisdom.  Along with education, he would pay attention to the character of the student as well.

 

Hadhrat Maulana Dr. Hafidh Shaykh Ahmed Mohiuddin Sharafi (May Allah protect him), Founder, Darul Uloom An Nomaaniya and former Dean, Faculty of Languages, Osmania University, said that 2 personalities played a great role in building the personality and character of Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him).  The first was his spiritual mentor and guide, Hadhrat Abul Hasanaat Syed ‘Abdullah Shah Naqshbandi Mujaddidi Qadri (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) and the second was his teacher, Hadhrat Abul Fida Syed Mahmood Hussain Afghani (May Allah shower His Mercy on him).

 

Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) would oversee and advice many intellectual and reformatory organizations.  He would always encourage those who were engaged in intellectual services.

 

Hadhrat Maulana Dr. Abdul Majeed Siddiqui Nizaami (May Allah protect him), honorable member of the advisory committee of Jamia Nizamia and former HoD, Arabic Dept., Osmania University, said that Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) was a pious scholar and a great Sufi.  He would pay special attention to the character of students and would be as affectionate with them as their own fathers.

 

Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) was a man of few words and used to be engaged in worship.  He would always the Obligatory Salaat with congregation, even while traveling he would not miss congregational Salaat.  He said that the message of the life of Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) is that proper development of an individual’s personality will lead to proper development of the society.

 

Hadhrat Maulana Dr. Hafidh Syed Badiuddin Sabri (May Allah protect him), honorable member of the advisory committee of Jamia Nizamia and Chairman, Board of Studies, Osmania University, said in his presentation that faith (Imaan) is related to the beliefs and the deeds (A’amaal) are related to piety.  For this reason, the scholars and the saints fulfill the duty of purifying beliefs and deeds.

 

Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) fulfilled his duty as a scholar and Sufi by defending and safeguarding the beliefs of the Ahle Sunnah and reformed the deeds of the populace as well.  In his speeches and writings, we frequently find him supporting the beliefs of the Ahle Sunnah and refuting the wrong sects.

 

Hadhrat Maulana Dr. Mustafa Shareef Naqshbandi (May Allah protect him), caliph of Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) and HoD, Dept. of Arabic, said that the supervision and guidance of his great teachers had turned Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) himself into a peerless scholar and researcher.  His life is a model for researchers and scholars.  He would give preference to working on manuscripts.

 

‘Allama Qifti’s work “Al Muhammadoona Minas Sh’uara” was a manuscript.  Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) worked on it in 1960 and it was published in 1966.

 

We can understand the erudition of Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) with the fact that this manuscript which was of 135 pages expanded into a book of 623 pages after his research and editing.  He wrote a 52-page foreword on it and prepared an index of 116 pages.  He used 84 resources for this one book.

 

Even the scholars from the Arab world value the work of Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him).

 

Hadhrat Maulana Shah Muhammad Faseehuddin Nizami (May Allah protect him), Chief Librarian, Jamia Nizamia, said that Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) was an epitome of the qualities and attributes of his Shaykh.  He was one of those people who would also provide spiritual remedies to the people.

 

Hadhrat Maulana Syed Shah Hussain Shaheedullah Basheer Naqshbandi (May Allah protect him), caliph of Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) and Secretary, Idaara Quraan Fehmi, said that Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) was a great scholar, elite researcher and a perfect Sufi.  The qualities and attributes that should be present in a Sufi were present in him.  He always gave utomost importance to the Shariah.  He would cite the saying of Hadhrat Imam Rabbani Mujaddid Alf Thaani (May Allah shower His Mercy on him):  If a person flies in the air and leaves even one Sunnah, then with us that person is not worth a grain of barley.

 

        He would be most concerned with following the Sunnah.  The outward and inward aspects of his personality were both pure.  The mere sight of his face would implant the remembrance of Allah Most High in one’s heart.

 

Hadhrat Maulana Irfanullah Shah Noori (May Allah protect him), Founder, Dar Ul Uloom Saif Ul Islam, said that the services of Hadhrat Abul Fida (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) can never be forgotten or ignored.  He had the honor of studying under many great scholars of our city and from other places.

 

Hadhrat Maulana Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi, Shaykh Ul Fiqh, Jamia Nizamia, and Founder-Director, Abul Hasanaat Islamic Research Center, thanked the guests and the attendees.

 

Maulana Hafidh Syed Wahid Ali Qadri, Teacher, Jamia Nizamia, led the proceedings.

 

The seminar started with Hafidh Syed Muhammad Misbahuddin Umair Naqshbandi reciting the Holy Quran.  Maulvi Muhammad Asadullah Shareef and Hafidh Syed Muhammad Bahauddin Zubair had the honor of reciting Naat in praise of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).

 

On this occasion, Maulana Hafiz Muhammad Iftekharuddin Qadri, Teacher, Jamia Nizamia, Maulana Ali Muhammad Naqshbandi, Kamil, Jamia Nizamia, Maulana Dr. Hasan Muhammad Naqshbandi, Osmania University, Maulana Muhiuddin Anwar Naqshbandi, Maulana Syed Muhammad Muinuddin Jilani Noori, Kamil, Jamia Nizamia, Maulana Syed Muhammad Minhajuddin Jilani Noori, Kamil, Jamia Nizamia were present.  Apart from them, many scholars and attendees were present.

 

The seminar ended with the Dua of Hadhrat Maulana Syed Qubool Badshah Qadri Shuttari.
