The miracles of Imam Rabbani Mujaddid Alf Thani

(May Allah sanctify his secret)

Imam Rabbani Mujaddid Alf Thani Hadhrat Shaykh Ahmed Farooqi Sirhindi (May Allah sanctify his secret) is one the greatest Imams of the Ummah.  Here, we present a few of his miracles:

1.    In spirituality, his son Hadhrat Khaja Masoom was on the path of Hadhrat Moosa (May peace be upon him).  Imam Rabbani intervened and put him on the path of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).

2.    The Imam gave glad tidings of sainthood of the kind of Hadhrat Ibrahim (May peace be upon him) to one of his disciples.  He did not believe it absolutely.  That night, he saw Hadhrat Ibrahim (May peace be upon him) himself in a dream and he confirmed this.  The next morning, the disciple came and fell at the Imam’s feet.

3.    He perceived “disbeliever” written on the forehead of Shaykh Tahir Lahori.  After some time, the news reached the Imam that he had turned apostate.  The Imam also perceived that this was written in the Protected Tablet (Lauh Mahfooz).  The Imam then prayed for him.  Through his prayers, Shaykh Tahir Lahori was again guided back on to the right path.  He repented, became a disciple of the Shaykh and was later given the Khirqa – the authorization to accept and instruct disciples.

4.    A disciple of the Imam wanted to see Hadhrat Ghouse Azam (May Allah be well pleased with him) with his own eyes.  The Imam instructed him to keep looking at a particular star.  Hadhrat Ghouse Azam (May Allah be well pleased with him) emerged from that star and when that disciple had seen him, he again went back.

5.    A disciple of the Imam, Maulana Yousuf, was in the throes of death.  His spiritual journey (Sulook) was not yet complete.  The Imam graced him with his attention and made him complete his spiritual journey.

6.    Even deceased folk would also benefit from the company of the Imam.  A person who was about to die instructed his heirs that the Imam be requested to lead his Funeral Salaat.  When the bier was brought to the Imam, the Imam cast his attention on him and the deceased started benefiting from it.  The same night, the relatives and dependents saw the high status of the deceased in dreams.

7.    Jahangir and Shah Jahan disagreed over something and things came to a battle.  All the dervishes gave glad tidings of victory to the prince, but the Imam said:  It doesn’t seem so.  At last, what occurred was what the Imam said.

8.    Abdul Raheem, a Subedar faced royal wrath.  He sought the help of the Imam.  The Imam wrote him a letter of reassurance.  Within 3, 4 days, the emperor awarded him a robe of honor and a title.

9.    The emperor was severely displeased with a chief.  He was summoned from Lahore to Delhi with the intention of being trampled by elephants.  In the course of his journey, he reached Sirhind and sought the help of the Imam.  The Imam supplicated for him.  When he reached the royal court, the emperor, instead of punishing him, awarded him a robe of honor.

10.           In the last days of his life, the Imam was staying in Ajmer.  In Ramadhan, due to rain, the worshippers were facing a lot of trouble.  The Imam prayed that there should be no rain until a complete recitation of the Holy Quran is finished and it was so.

11.           A wall of the same mosque was very decrepit.  People were afraid that it would fall any time.  The Imam reassured them that it would not be so.  When the Imam was returning from Ajmer, the moment he crossed out of the town, the wall fell.

12.           Maulana Muhammad Ameen was ill from many years.  No medicine or prayer would benefit him.  He heard of the fame of the Imam and wrote a missive to him.  The Imam wrote a letter reassuring him and sent a shawl used by him.  The moment Maulana Muhammad Ameen wrapped the shawl around himself, he was cured.

13.           Before his demise, the Imam had prophesized the number of days left in his earthly life.  It was proved to be true after his demise.

14.           A devotee of him was assailed by disbelievers in a far-flung town.  He sought help from the Imam.  The Imam immediately came to his help and the devotee triumphed.

15.           A disciple of the Shaykh was attacked by a tiger in the course of a journey.  He cried out to the Imam for help.  The Imam immediately appeared there with a staff in his hands and beat the tiger into a retreat.  The friends of this disciple asked him about the Imam.  He replied:  It was my Shaykh, Imam Rabbani Mujaddid Alf Thaani (May Allah sanctify his secret).

16.           Thousands of non-Muslims embraced Islam at his hands.

17.           A man presented a gift to the Imam and requested him to pray for the health of someone else.  The Imam didn’t accept the gift and said:  I pray for his forgiveness.  Later it was learnt that that person had already passed away.

18.           A saint, Khaja Jamaluddin Hussain came to the Imam and requested him to grace him with his attention.  The Imam said:  Your heart is in the grip of a woman.  Unless and until you give it up, nothing can be gained.  The seeker acknowledged this and repented.  Immediately, he started receiving the spiritual benefits.

These are some of the miracles of the Imam.  Undoubtedly his greatest miracle was the revival of Islam and the Shariah.

May Allah Most High guide us to follow in the Imam’s footsteps and to draw benefit from him.
