f:1207 -    Do false teeth have to be removed while bathing?
Country : Hyderabad, India,
Name : Muhammad Javed Ali

Question:
The elders in our family have asked us this.  Those who have false teeth, what should they do with them at the time of taking a bath?

.....................................................................................................................................
Answer:
While bathing, rinsing the mouth with water is Obligatory (Fardh).  Thus, wetting the gums is also necessary as mentioned in Fatawa A’alamgiri, Vol. 1, Pg. No. 16.

False teeth are not exactly a part of the body.  They are used as per need.  It is Obligatory to wet the gums beneath the false teeth as well.  If the false teeth are such that without removing them, the gums are being wet, then it is not necessary to remove them.  If the gums cannot be wet without removing the false teeth, then they have to be removed while bathing.

To err on the side of caution, it is always better to remove the false teeth while bathing so that the gums are properly wetted.

And Allah knows best.
