f:711 -    Forgetting to recite Bismillah at the beginning of the Wuzu
Country : Raichur, India,
Name : Naveed Aslam

Question:
Mufti Sahab, whatever I do, I start with ?Bismillah.?  Sometimes, I forget to recite it before starting the Wuzu.  If I remember it in the middle of the Wuzu what should I do?  Will I get the reward of the Sunnah if I recite when I remember it?

Answer:
It is a Sunnah to recite “Bismillah” at the beginning of the ablution (Wudhu).  If you forget to do so and realize while performing the ablution, then you may recite it.  Doing so does not constitute the Sunnah, but you will get the reward of reciting “Bismillah” and will gain the blessings of it.  As given in Fatawa A’alamgiri, Al Babul Awwal Fil Wudhu.

And Allah Most High knows best.
