EATING MYNAH - ALLOWED OR NOT ?


Everything in its essence is permissible, as long as there is no proof about its prohibition.&nbsp;&nbsp;The Shariah has given the details about all that is prohibited.&nbsp;&nbsp;Everything excepting them are Halal and permissible.&nbsp;&nbsp;The animals which the<b> Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)</b> has prohibited are forbidden, <span style="color: #339966"><b>as given in Sahih Muslim:<br /> <br /> </b></span><span style="color: #ff0000"><b>Translation of Hadith</b></span>:&nbsp;&nbsp;It has been narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abdullah bin Abbas (May Allah be well pleased with them) that the <b>Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)</b> has prohibited against every animal which is carnivorous and every bird which has claws.<br /> <br /> <span style="color: #993300"><b>(Sahih Muslim, Vol. 2, Pg No. 147, Hadith No: 3574)</b></span><br /> <br /> In the light of the Hadith, the Fuqaha (Islamic Law Experts) have said that the birds, which peck at grain and do not hurt with their claws nor attack are permissible and the birds, which attack with their claws and hurt are Haraam (forbidden).<br /> <br /> Mynah does not attack with its claws, it pecks.&nbsp;&nbsp;Thus, a Mynah is Halal and its egg is also permissible.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br />
