Durud on the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)

<meta content="text/html; charset=utf-8" http-equiv="Content-Type" /> <meta content="Word.Document" name="ProgId" /> <meta content="Microsoft Word 12" name="Generator" /> <meta content="Microsoft Word 12" name="Originator" /> <link href="file:///C:\DOCUME~1\mohi\LOCALS~1\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_filelist.xml" rel="File-List" /> <link href="file:///C:\DOCUME~1\mohi\LOCALS~1\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_themedata.thmx" rel="themeData" /> <link href="file:///C:\DOCUME~1\mohi\LOCALS~1\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_colorschememapping.xml" rel="colorSchemeMapping" /><style type="text/css">  </style> <p class="MsoNormal">Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) has Himself ordered us to present our Durood and Salaam to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).<span style="">  </span>As given in Surah Ahzaab, verse no -56.<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">The Fuqaha (Experts of Islamic Law) have clarified that reciting Durood once in the whole lifetime is Fardh and reciting it in the assembly where the blessed name of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is mentioned is Wajib.<span style="">  </span>Apart from this, reciting Durood and Salaam on other occasions, as per convenience, is Mustahab (Commendable).<span style="">  </span>There is much excellence in reciting Durood and Salaam and there are innumerable rewards and benefits in reciting it.<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">Imam Tabarani (May Allah shower His Mercy on him) has mentioned a Hadith in Mo’jam Ausat in which the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) says: Aameen 3 times.<span style="">  </span>One among them is about Ramadhan and the second is about the parents.<span style="">  </span>Only the third is being mentioned here:<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">Translation of Hadith:<span style="">  </span>Jibrail (Peace be upon him) came to the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and said: May Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) ruin that person who does not recite Durood when Your blessed name is mentioned before him (or her) and the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Aameen.<o:p></o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">(Mo’jam Ausat, Hadith No: 8364)</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">There is a Hadith in Sunan e Daraqutnee.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Translation of Hadith: It is narrated on the authority of Abu Masood Ansari (May Allah be well pleased with him)., he says the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: The one who offers Salaat and does not send Durood on me and my family members, his Salaat Will not be accepted.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">(Sunan Daraqutnee, Hadith No. 1359)</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">Islam teaches cleanliness and purity.<span style="">  </span>For some forms of worship, cleanliness (Taharah) is a condition and for some other forms of worship and recitations and prayers, Wuzu is in included in its manners and declared as commendable.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p> <p class="MsoNormal">Thus, for recitations and prayers (Awrad wa Wazaaif) and especially for Durud Shareef, reciting them with Wuzu is commendable and brings greater reward and leads to raising of status.  However, reciting Durud without Wuzu is not a sin.</p> <p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
