It has been narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be well pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: We came last in this world and we will be the first in Qiyamah, we will be first ones to be resurrected from the graves and the first ones to be passed over the Sirat (the bridge) and our judgment will be done the first among all Ummah. We will not have to bear the agony of waiting. Then on entering Jannah, we will enter the first among all other Ummah. Yes it is true that the Ahle Kitab were given their book before us and we were given our Book after them. They were given "Juma'a" (Friday), but they did not value it, they disagreed about taking Juma'a and did not accept it. Thanks be to Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) on guiding us to accept Juma'a. We took Juma'a and in this way, the Ahle Kitab have fallen behind us. The Jews took Friday and fell back by 1 day and the Christians took Sunday and fell back by 2 days.

(Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)

It has been narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be well pleased with him), he says that in the Tafseer of a verse of Surah Buruj, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: The day which has been promised means the day of Qiyamah and "Yaum Ul Mashood" (the day in which the people from the whole world come to Arafaat) means the day of Arafah and "Shahid" means Juma'a (that people stay at their places and Juma'a comes on them) and the most excellent of all days is Juma'a. There is one moment in Juma'a that when a believer asks supplicates to Allah Ta'ala, Allah Ta'ala accepts it and is protected against whatever he asks protection from. This has been narrated by Imam Ahmed and Tirmidhi.

It has been narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abu Darda (May Allah be well pleased with him), he says that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Send Durud on me profusely on Friday, because the day of Friday is "Mashood" also, because on Friday, the angels of mercy come in large numbers and spread mercy. On Friday, I have such "Kashf" (unveiling) that without the means of angels, your Durud is presented to me by Kashf. Hadhrat Abu Darda (May Allah be well pleased with him) says: I asked: Will this be in your life or after you pass away in to the presence of Allah also? On hearing this, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: Listen Abu Darda! Allah Ta'ala has prohibited the bodies of the Prophets of the earth. The earth does not eat their bodies. They are present, alive, in their graves with their bodies. There Rizq (sustenance/food) is also given. This has been narrated by Ibn Majah.

It has been narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abdullah bin Umar, he says that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) says: Allah Ta'ala saves every Muslim from the torture and questioning of the grave (Qabr in Urdu) who dies in the night of Friday (i.e. Thursday night) or on Friday. This has been narrated by Imam Ahmed and Tirmidhi.

(Zujajatul Masabeeh, Vol. 3)
