Superiority of Hadhrat Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him)

Not only Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him), but even his relatives are distinguished   Hadhrat Abdullah Bin Abbas (May Allah be well pleased with them) says: We were sitting with the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  Hadhrat Fatima (May Allah be well pleased with her) came in crying.  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) asked her the reason for crying.  She said:  Hasan and Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with them) have been gone for a long time.  They have not yet returned.  At this time, neither Hadhrat Ali (May Allah be well pleased with him) nor somebody else is also not there to go in search of them.  No idea where they might be.   The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  Don’t cry Fatima (May Allah be well pleased with her)!  The Lord Almighty is more benevolent on the children than you are and He is their protector.  After this the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) started supplicating: Lord! Wherever the children might be, protect them.   Immediately Hadhrat Jibrail (peace be upon him) came and said:  O Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), don’t worry.  The children are in the garden of Bani Najjar.  The Lord Almighty has appointed 2 angels to protect them.   Hadhrat Abdullah Bin Abbas (May Allah be well pleased with them) says:  When the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) reached the garden of the clan of Bani Najjar, He (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) lifted Hadhrat Imam Hasan and an angel lifted up Hadhrat Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with them), however people would see that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) only had lifted up both of them.  When al of us reached the Masjid, the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) addressed us:   O people!  Shall I tell you who are they whose maternal grandfather and grandmother are better than the whole world?  The people said: Please tell us, o Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  Listen!  They are Hasan and Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with them).  Their maternal grandfather is the Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam); their maternal grandmother is Hadhrat Khadija (May Allah be well pleased with her) who are better than the whole world.   The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  Shall I tell you who are they whose mother and father are better than everybody's mother and father?  Listen!  They are Hasan and Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with them).  Their mother is Hadhrat Fatima; their father is Hadhrat Ali bin Abi Talib (May Allah be well pleased with them) who are better than everybody else’s mother and father.   Then the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) again said:  Shall I tell you who are they whose maternal uncle and aunt are better than everybody's maternal uncle and aunt?  Listen!  They are Hasan and Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with them).  their maternal uncle is Hadhrat Qasim, the son of the Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam); their maternal aunts are Zainab, Ruqaiya, Umme Kulthoom (May Allah be well pleased with them) who are better than everybody else’s maternal uncle and aunt.   Then the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  Shall I tell you who are they whose paternal uncle and aunt are better than everybody's paternal uncle and aunt?  Listen!  They are Hasan and Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with them).  Their paternal uncle is Ja'afar bin Abi Talib; their paternal aunt is Hadhrat Umme Hani bint Abi Talib (May Allah be well pleased with them) who are better than everybody else’s paternal uncle and aunt.   Even the friend of Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him) is of such status that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) will intercede for him:   Translation of Hadith: Once the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) was passing through a lane.  He (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) saw some children playing.  He (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) lifted one of them and expressed His love for him.   The Sahabah asked:  O Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)! You are expressing your love of this child more than others.  What is the reason?  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  One day, I had seen this child play with Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him).  From that time, the love of this child is in my heart.  I will intercede (perform Shafa’at) for him and for his parents too.   The generosity of the Ahle Bait:   Once Imam Hasan, Imam Hussain and Hadhrat Abdullah Bin Jafar (May Allah be well pleased with them) were going to Makkah for Haj.  On the way, they found the hut of an old woman.  They went there and requested the old woman to get something to drink.  The old woman gave them goat’s milk.  Then they asked for something to eat.  The old woman told that she had only a goat and nothing else.  Subsequently, that goat was slaughtered and everyone partook from it.  They told the old woman: We are from the Quraish.  You come to Madina, we will give you something.   After they went away, the woman’s husband came and expressed his displeasure at slaughtering the only goat form absolute strangers.   After a time, the old woman and her husband became very poor and came to Madina and started living as laborers.  By chance, the woman passed the house of Imam Hasan (May Allah be well pleased with him).  She did not recognize him.  Imam Hasan (May Allah be well pleased with him) recognized her and called out to her: O old woman! DO you recognize me?  She said: No.  Imam Hasan (May Allah be well pleased with him) said: I am that guest of yours who you had served goat’s milk and mutton.  Then Imam Hasan (May Allah be well pleased with him) gave her 1000 goats and 1000 gold coins and sent her to Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him).  He also gave her 1000 goats and 1000 coins and sent her to Hadhrat Abdullah Bin Jafar (May Allah be well pleased with him).  He gave her 2000 goats and 2000 gold coins.  The old woman returned rich to her husband with 4000 goats and 4000 gold coins.   The mildness and magnanimity of Hadhrat Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him):   Once, there were some guests with Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him).  A servant of Hadhrat Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him) dropped a bowl of hot Kheer on his head.  The Kheer fell on his blessed head and face.  Hadhrat Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him) glared at the servant.   He recited the verse of the Holy Quran:  “Wal Kazimeenal Ghaiza” i.e. those who calm their anger.   Hadhrat Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him) said:  I have calmed my anger.   The servant recited:  “Wal A’afeena Anin Naas” i.e. those who forgive people.   Hadhrat Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him) said: I have forgiven.   The servant recited:  “Wallahu Yuhibbul Muhsineen” i.e. Allah Ta’ala befriends the pious.   Hadhrat Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him) said:  I have forgiven you, freed you and forever your expenses will be on me.   Those who are the beloved of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), what do you ask about their manners?  It is about them that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) has said: Hasan and Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with them) are the beauty of the ‘Arsh.   Translation of Hadith: When Jannah was created, it asked: Lord!  For whom have you created me?  The answer was for the poor.  On this Jannah became sad.  Almighty Allah said: Hasan and Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with them) are also your dwellers.  On this, Jannah started priding herself on it.   Translation of Hadith:  Once the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said about Imam Hussain (May Allah be well pleased with him):  He is the beauty of the earth and the heavens.  On this, a companion of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: My Hussain is more distinguished in the heavens than on the earth.  It is written on the right side of the ‘Arsh: Imam Hussain, Miftahul Huda and Safinah Nijah (the key of guidance and the ship of deliverance)   Them, who are the beauty of the earth and the heavens, the beauty of the ‘Arsh, the beacons of guidance, whose friendship and love is the light of the hearts of Muslims, Aql says that their slavery should be considered a honor, but who pays attention to Aql, the slaves of Hawa did whatever came to them.
