Seeking blessings from the relics of saints


<p class="MsoNormal">Some people talk about seeking blessings (<i>Barakah</i>) from the relics of the Auliya and say that the deference and respect is shown to the clothes, for e.g. , of the Auliya.<span>&nbsp; </span>Of What use is it?</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Hadhrat Muhaddith-E-Deccan Syed Abul Hasanaat Abdullah Shah Sahab (May Allah Ta&rsquo;ala be well pleased with him) dispelled these thoughts and doubts which are created in the heart and the mind in a very simple manner.<span>&nbsp; </span>He writes in the Tafseer of verse number 96 of Surah Yousuf:</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">But when the bearer of the glad tidings arrived, and he cast that shirt over Ya&lsquo;qub (Jacob&rsquo;s) face, his sight returned the same moment. Ya&lsquo;qub (Jacob) said: &lsquo;Did I not say to you that I know from Allah what you do not know?&rsquo; <span>&nbsp;</span>(Surah Yousuf (12:96))</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&ldquo;Friends, if the company of the clothes is such then what about the company of the master of the clothes!<span>&nbsp; </span>You can understand this yourself.<span>&nbsp; </span>This verse shows that the company of the Auliya and other righteous folk is beneficial.<span>&nbsp; </span>Many<span>&nbsp; </span>of the modern educated people and among those who hold the traditional views, the Wahhabis deny the blessings of the clothes of the Auliya.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">This verse shows that their view is wrong.<span>&nbsp; </span>The blessings of the clothes of the Auliya cannot be denied.<span>&nbsp; </span>Blessings through sight is also established.<span>&nbsp; </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Translation of Hadith: The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) granted one of His garments to a Sahabi.<span>&nbsp; </span>He kept that for his funeral shroud (<i>Kafan</i> in Urdu) and willed that this should also be included in my funeral shroud.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Translation of Hadith:<span>&nbsp; </span>Once the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) distributed His hair, which the Sahabah preserved with great respect and care.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">A certain person said that a saint had given him a robe.<span>&nbsp; </span>He says that as long as he would be wearing that robe, no thought of sin, major or minor, would cross his heart/mind.<span>&nbsp; </span>First, I thought that this was a coincidence, but after repeated experiences, I realized that this is the blessing of the robe.<span><br /> <br /> </span>[Tafseer Surah Yousuf, Pg.<span>&nbsp; </span>No. 285]</p>
