The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is Noor


<p class="MsoNormal">That the Holy Quran is Noor (Lit. radiance) is established through the Holy Quran and the Hadith.<span style="">&nbsp; </span>There are many Hadith in the canons of Hadith.<span style="">&nbsp; </span>As an example only one Hadith and one verse of the Holy Quran is being presented here.<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Allah Ta&rsquo;ala has sent the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) as Noor.<span style="">&nbsp; </span>It is given in the Holy Quran:</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">O People of the Book! Indeed there has come to you Our Messenger who unfolds to you (clearly) many such things from the Book as you have been concealing and who overlooks many of (your) wrongs (too). There has indeed come to you a light from Allah (i.e. Muhammad [blessings and peace be upon him]) and an Enlightening Book (i.e. the Holy Qur&rsquo;an)&nbsp;&nbsp;(Surah Maida, 5:15)</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">The leader of all the interpreters of the Holy Quran, the expounder of the Holy Quran, Hibr Ul Ummah Hadhrat Abdullah Bin Abbas (May Allah be well pleased with him) says about the Tafseer of this verse:</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Translation: <span style="">&nbsp;</span>Noor is the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Other exegetes of the Holy Quran have also said that &ldquo;Noor&rdquo; mentioned here is the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).<span style="">&nbsp; </span>(Tafseer Jalalyn, Tafseer Baidhawi, Tafseer Ma&rsquo;alim Ut Tanzeel, Tafseer Kabeer, etc.<span style="">&nbsp; </span>Surah Maidah-15).</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Noor here is the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and the book here is the Holy Quran.<span style="">&nbsp; </span>(Tafseer Jalalyn, Pg. No. 97)</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">There is a Hadith in Musnad Imam Ahmed:</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Translation of Hadith: <span style="">&nbsp;</span>Hadhrat Luqman Bin Amir (May Allah be well pleased with him) says that I have heard from Hadhrat Abu Umama (May Allah be well pleased with him) that he asked the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam):<span style="">&nbsp; </span>O Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)!<span style="">&nbsp; </span>How were your initial affairs?<span style="">&nbsp; </span>The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:<span style="">&nbsp; </span>I am the supplication of my ancestor Hadhrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him), I am the glad tiding of Hadhrat Isa (peace be upon him).<span style="">&nbsp; </span>My mother saw that a Noor issued forth from me, which illuminated the palaces of Syria.<span style="">&nbsp; </span>(Musnad Imam Ahmed, Hadith No. 21231)</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Apart from Musnad Imam Ahmed, this Hadith is also present in:</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Mustadrak Alas Sahihain, Hadith No. 4140</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Mojam Kabeer Tabarani, Hadith No. 7631</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Dalail Un Nubuwwah Lil Baihaqui, Hadith No. 17</p> <p class="MsoNormal">Khasais Ul Kubra, Vol. 1, Pg. No. 46.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal">The above mentioned verses of the Holy Quran and the Hadith establish beyond a doubt that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is Noor.</p>
