Islam is against enmity and hostility

Islam is a religion of peace, love, brotherhood and it teaches respect of humanity. <div style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); padding-top: 5px; padding-right: 5px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 5px; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; ">   Equality, mutual cooperation, affection, sacrifice for others, serving the creation, all these are nothing but branches of unity and brotherhood.   Islam is the only religion, which rejects hostility and confrontation between all the sections of the society and instructs one and all to safeguard human values.  History is clear on the point that mutual hostility, differences, oppression, arson, etc. are the signs of regression and decay in any society.  If they are not dealt with forthright, then they will eventually affect the whole nation.   Before the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) came, ignorance ruled the roost.  The world had fallen prey to misguidance.  People were involved in blind beliefs, idol worship, indecency and nudity.  Shedding blood and depriving others of their rights had become second nature to them.  Human beings were prone to violence.  Wars would start on trivial issues.  Their enmity and hostility would be so intense that these wars would go on for years together.  In this age of oppression and barbarism, Allah Ta'ala sent the Prophet of mercy, Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).   He (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) changed oppression and enmity with peace and love.  He (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) changed unrest with unity.  He (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) gave the message to humanity that its power and strength are not to trouble others but to establish peace by putting a full stop to troubles, that humanity's endeavors should not be for generating differences, but towards uniting one and all, that their efforts should not be directed towards selfishness and deception of other, but towards sacrifice and renouncement, that their very existence is not to oppress others, but only for the victory of truth.   These are the words of Hadhrat Maulana Mufti Hafidh Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi, Professor, Islamic Law, Jamia Nizamia, Founder/Director Abul Hasanaat Islamic Research Center in the weekly lecture held at Masjid Abul Hasanaat, Phoolbagh Jahanuma.   Mufti Sahab said that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) taught love and brotherhood to a nation steeped in warfare and bloodshed in such a way that even sworn enemies became brothers to each other.  Allah Ta'ala mentions this in the Holy Quran:   And hold fast to the rope of Allah all of you together and do not generate dissension and factions. But call to mind the blessing of Allah upon you when you were enemies (one to another). Then He created the bond of love among your hearts, and by His blessing you became brothers. And you (had reached) the brink of a pit of Fire (of Hell) but He rescued you from it. That is how Allah elaborates His Signs to you so that you may take guidance to the right path. Surah Al-Imran (3:103)   Mufti Sahab said that the history of India is proof enough that for centuries there was Muslim rule here, but there was no discrimination on any basis.  Instead, everyone was given basic rights due to them without any discrimination of any kind.   In Islamic rule, non-Muslims were given the same rights as Muslims.  There was no discrimination of any kind in this. The non-Muslims had the right of religious freedom, economic freedom and social freedom.  Muslim rulers made arrangements for their protection and maintained the ambience of peace and security.   Islam has not only declared Muslims' lives as sacred, but also granted protection to non-Muslim minorities living in an Islamic country.   The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  The person who oppresses any non-Muslim with whom there was an agreement or deprives him/her of his rights or taxes that person beyond his capability or takes away something from him (or her) without his express wish, then on the Day of Judgment, I will present a case against him.   Mufti Sahab quoted from Sahih Bukhari that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  Don’t have enmity with each other, don’t be jealous of each other and don’t backbite on each other.  O slaves of Allah!  Become brothers to each other.   A large number of people attended the lecture.  The session attended with Salaam and Du'a.  Maulana Hafidh Syed Ahmed Ghouri led the proceedings. </div>
