The resplendence of the blessed face of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam)

&nbsp;Almighty Allah has made the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) the chief and leader of all Prophets. &nbsp; He has seated the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) on such lofty stations that no one can even dream of it. &nbsp;Human intellect and thought are powerless in gauging the true status of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>When the earlier Prophets were criticized by their nations, Almighty Allah ordered those Prophets themselves to answer them. &nbsp; However, when the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) was criticized, Almighty Allah Himself answered to all those objections.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>For some time, the series of revelations was stopped. &nbsp; The disbelievers started taunting that Almighty Allah had abandoned the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). &nbsp;Almighty Allah Himself answered it by revealing the verse of Surah Dhuha:</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>(O My Esteemed Beloved,) I swear by (your holy face glowing like) the growing morning bright, (the radiant face, whose effulgence has illumined the dark souls,). &nbsp;(O My Esteemed Beloved,) I swear by (your fragrant tresses spread like) the dark night (over your effulgent face and shoulders,). &nbsp;(Ever since He has chosen you,) your Lord has not forsaken you. Nor is He displeased (ever since He has taken you as His Beloved). &nbsp;Surah Dhuha 1-3</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>These the words of Mufti Syed Ziauddin Naqshbandi, Professor, Islamic Law, Jamia Nizamia, Founder-Director Abul Hasanaat Islamic Research Center, in the weekly lecture held at Masjid Abul Hasanaat which is held under the auspices of AHIRC.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>The revered Mufti stated in the interpretation of the verses of Surah Dhuha that Almighty Allah has sworn by the peerless face and fragrant hair of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). &nbsp; The exegetes have said that &ldquo;Dhuha&rdquo; means the blessed face of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and &ldquo;Lail&rdquo; means His sacred hair.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>The revered Mufti said that instead of being compared to the noon sun, the face of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is compared to the morning sun (time of Salaat Ul Chaasht) even though the sun is more potent in the midday. &nbsp; The secret here is that the sun at high noon is hurtful and the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is mercy personified. &nbsp; Thus this comparison so that the radiance and the mercy of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) are both expressed.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>The revered Mufti quoted from Sunan Daarimi and Zujajatul Masabeeh that it is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abu &lsquo;Ubaidah bin Muhammad bin &lsquo;Ammaar bin Yasir (May Allah be well pleased with him), he says: &nbsp;I asked Hadhrat Rubayyi&rsquo; bint Mu&rsquo;awwid (May Allah be well pleased with her): &nbsp; Please describe the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) to us. &nbsp; She answered: &nbsp; If you had seen the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), you would have understood that the sun shines with the radiance of the face of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Hadhrat Jabir bin Samurah (May Allah be well pleased with him) says: &nbsp;I had the honor of seeing the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) in a full moon night when He had worn a red striped garment. &nbsp;I would look at the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and I would look at the moon. &nbsp;By Allah! &nbsp; In my eyes, He was more beautiful than the full moon itself.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>There is a Hadith in Jame&rsquo; Tirmidhi. &nbsp;Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be well pleased with him) says: &nbsp;I have never seen anybody more beautiful than the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), as if the sun draws its light from His radiant face and moves on.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The revered Mufti said that the Companions of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) described the blessed face of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) in many ways. &nbsp;Sometimes they have used the moon as an example and at other times, the sun and at some other times with the soft light of the moon. &nbsp; All these are just metaphors. &nbsp; The fact is that the blessed face of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) is more beautiful and radiant than the sun and the moon themselves.</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>The session ended with Salaam and Dua. &nbsp;Maulana Syed Wahid Ali Qadri, Teacher, Jamia Nizamia, led the proceedings.</div>
