He said, “Keep yours’ eating, drinking and clothing according to the orders of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala).” Those things through which, you prefer proud, hypocrisy and fame is materialism and extravagance.
Hadhrat Hasan Basri (May Allah SWT bestows His mercy upon him) said: I wonder on such a man who spends extravagantly on fulfilling his desires and becomes miser when the question comes for spending in the cause of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) to seek His consent. O! Who don’t care for the Day of Judgment, You will be certainly acknowledged tomorrow, about your degree in sight of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala)
And further states: Do not hope for any assistance from a miser.
