The ode of Hadhrat ‘Abbas (May Allah be well pleased with him)

The ode of Hadhrat ‘Abbas (May Allah be well pleased with him)

The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) blessed Hadhrat ‘Abbas (May Allah be well pleased with him) similarly when he asked for permission to recite poetry in praise of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam).  Thus it is mentioned in Al Mawahib Al Ladunniya:

Translation: It is narrated on the authority of Tabarani and others that when Hadhrat ‘Abbas bin ‘Abdul Muttalib (May Allah be well pleased with him) entered Madina, he asked:  Do I have permission to recite poetry in praise of You?  The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said:  Do so.  May Allah Most High preserve the beauty of your face.  Then, he (i.e. Hadhrat ‘Abbas) recited an ode some of whose couplets are:

You were happy in shades and in the station where leaves were used as covering i.e. on the bodies of Hadhrat Adam and Hawwa (May peace be upon them).  This couplet suggests a verse of the Holy Quran.

You went into the fire hidden in the back of Hadhrat Ibrahim (May peace be upon him), then how could he have burnt

When You were born the earth and the very horizons became illuminated with Your radiance.

We are traveling the path of guidance in the light of this very illumination.

Thus, this proves that the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) would be gladdened by such poetry.

Because the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) would like poetry, Jibreel (May peace be upon him) would always help Hadhrat Hassaan bin Thabit.

Thus, there is a Hadith in Mishkaat Ul Masabeeh:

Translation: Hadhrat ‘Aisha (May Allah be well pleased with her) says:  I heard the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) say to Hassaan:  Jibreel (May peace be upon him) always helps you as long as you defend Allah and His Prophet.  When Hassaan disparaged the disbelievers with his poetry, he cured the Muslims and cured himself as well i.e. everyone was reassured.
