f:175 -    Non-scholar collecting proofs
Country : Hyd,
Name : Naqshbandi
Question:     Assalamalaikum wa Rahmatullah, can a person who is not an A'alim collect proofs and evidences against those who hold the wrong Aqida and find out whether the proofs are appropriate or not ?  With or without the guidance of a Sunni A'alim? Can such a person collect them in the form of notes?  When the aim is refutation of those who hold the wrong Aqida?
............................................................................
Answer:     Walaikum Assalamalaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa barakutuhu, keeping an eye on the proofs for issues related to Aqida and other affairs is appreciable, in fact, in the present scenario, it has become necessary.  Not being an A'alim and still doing this shows your desire for this.

Collecting notes for personal benefit is also good.  There is no harm in giving those notes to others in their original form.  If the non-scholar makes some additions to those notes, then that should be shown to a certified scholar.

If there is anything which needs to be corrected, then it can be corrected before others are affected by it.

And Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) knows best.
